Do we play in bad weather?

Netball is traditionally a winter, outdoor sport and therefore will play if there is rain. If the rain or the residual water on the courts is deemed to be too heavy or dangerous, the match maybe delayed, postponed or cancelled.

Should thunderstorms present on match day, the competitions committee (C&DNA or K&DNA) will determine whether a game should be cancelled or suspended.

In the case of extreme heat, games may be shortened or if above 36 degrees, may be cancelled. This is once again down the competitions committee.

Carnegie Netball club will notify the team managers and coaches as soon as anything arises that may interrupt the normal game schedule.

Do I have to buy any equipment?

We do require players to purchase a Carnegie Netball club uniform. Decent netball shoes are recommended, a water bottle should be brought to all games and training sessions. However, no other gear is required.
Netball kit bags including bibs, balls and supplies are provided to coaches before each season.
If your team requires any specific equipment, you can contact our equipment team at admin@carnegienetballclub.com.au

Uniform

Do I need to buy a uniform? Where do I buy a uniform?
Yes you will need to buy a Carnegie Netball club uniform, this can be done through the shop on netball connect app.
Optional Carnegie Netball club socks and Hoodies are also available to purchase

Alternatively, please join our Second hand Uniform Facebook Group

Other Uniform information
Navy blue bike shorts can be worn under the dress but must not pass the hem line.
White socks (no logo or coloured trim) or Carnegie Netball Club socks are required.
In cold weather, players can wear long sleeve black or navy shirts and or leggings under their dress if required.
If you have any questions regarding uniform you can email admin@carnegienetballclub.com.au
Nails need to be cut short and long hair needs to be tied back.

All jewellery needs to be removed; earrings that cannot be removed may be taped using brown fabric tape.

What shoes do you recommend?
We recommend Netball specific shoes available at most sports stores. A proper netball shoe should have good grip and ankle support, which is key for short, sharp side-step movements, jumps and landing, quick footwork, and swift direction change. Running shoes are made for straight-line, repetitious movements.

When you’re playing netball, you want to be agile, not flat-footed. Netball shoes help keep you on the balls of your feet, so you can react faster with greater support.

Training

When and where does training occur?
Training takes place at the same location as the weekly games. Each team trains at the same allocated court once a week.
Coaches select the day of training at the start of each season. Training days will differ for each team.
If you would like to know what day you may be training on with the current team layouts, email: admin@carnegienetballclub.com.au

Are we required to attend training? What’s involved in a training session? Can I watch my child?
Training helps all aspects of the team. It is a great opportunity for the team to get to know each other, learn new skills and game play strategies. Regular attendance is recommended.
Yes, you can watch your child’s training session.

Volunteers

I would love to volunteer, what could I do?
The club is a not-for-profit organisation and is run by a committee of volunteers. We encourage players and parents to become involved in the club and support our players.
Parents can join the committee, coach a team, become team managers or get involved with fundraising.

Our committee meetings are held once a month. If you would like more information on volunteering or joining the Carnegie Netball club committee email admin@carnegienetballclub.com.au
